Rør System engineers and installs hydronic heating systems, underfloor heating systems and cooling systems for all types of buildings — from homes and apartment buildings to office buildings, hotels, hospitals and industrial facilities. We select the right system and dimension for optimal energy utilisation, comfortable climate and low operating costs throughout the building's lifetime.
Hydronic heating systems and radiators
Hydronic heating systems are the most energy-efficient and flexible form of heating in larger buildings. The system uses hot water — typically from district heating, a heat pump or boiler — which circulates through insulated pipework to radiators, convectors or underfloor heating circuits. The heat source can be changed without altering the pipe network, providing great flexibility for future energy upgrades.
Rør System installs complete heating systems with expansion tanks, safety valves, circulation pumps and controls for room-by-room temperature regulation. We coordinate with electricians and automation suppliers for a fully integrated system. All systems are balanced after installation and documented with protocols and operational training.
We supply radiators and convectors from leading suppliers such as Purmo, Kermi and Jaga, adapted in output and design to the architecture and energy requirements. For facade systems and special situations, we can supply designer radiators and concealed systems.
Underfloor heating — comfortable warmth from floor to ceiling
Underfloor heating provides the most comfortable and even heat distribution in a room. Heat is emitted as radiant heat from the floor surface and creates a natural temperature gradient with warm air where you are and cooler air near the ceiling. This is experienced as very comfortable, and is particularly popular in bathrooms, kitchens and large open areas.
Rør System installs hydronic underfloor heating systems in all building categories. We lay heating circuits in grooves (for rehabilitation) or in screed (for new builds), and connect them to a distribution cabinet with flow meter valves for precise balancing. The system can be integrated with smart home automation for room-by-room temperature regulation and setback times.
We deliver turnkey underfloor heating — from calculating circuit lengths and sizing distribution cabinets to a fully installed and balanced system. Our installers work closely with the flooring contractor to ensure correct procedure and avoid damage to the pipes.
Cooling, chilled water piping and chilled beams
In line with a warmer climate and stricter requirements for indoor climate in commercial buildings, cooling has become an increasingly important part of the HVAC delivery. Rør System installs the hydronic cooling system that distributes chilled water from the refrigeration plant to cooling surfaces in the building — whether that is chilled ceilings, fan-coil units, chilled beams or process cooling.
Cooling pipework in copper and steel is insulated with vapour-barrier enclosures to prevent condensation and moisture damage. Correct insulation is decisive in cooling systems and is something we always prioritise. We collaborate with recognised refrigeration contractors and suppliers of VRF/VRV systems for a complete climate system.
For data centres and other businesses with special cooling requirements, we dimension redundant systems that ensure sufficient capacity and high uptime. We coordinate closely with IT managers, architects and electricians to deliver a complete and documented cooling system.
District heating, ground source and renewable energy sources
Rør System installs substations for district heating and district cooling systems, including heat exchangers, pumps, expansion vessels and control valves. We ensure correct transition between the supplier network and the building's internal system, and document the installation in accordance with the district heating supplier's requirements.
For ground source and heat pump systems, we install collector circuits, borehole connections and the distribution system inside the building. We coordinate with the drilling contractor and heat pump supplier for a complete and optimal system.
