Fire Suppression Systems
Certified suppression systems — sprinkler, gas, water mist and foam — engineered and installed to NS-EN and international standards for all types of buildings.

Fire suppression systems are the last and most decisive line in a building's fire defence.
Rør System engineers, installs and documents certified suppression systems that protect lives, assets and operational continuity. We deliver complete suppression systems as an integrated part of the piping contract, or as a standalone project in all types of buildings — residential, commercial, hotels, hospitals, industrial facilities, data centres and tunnels.
Fire suppression systems are part of our comprehensive fire protection portfolio — which also includes fire detection, fire alarm and emergency lighting. On that page you will find overarching information about all the fire protection services we deliver.
Sprinkler systems — always on guard
Sprinkler systems are the most widely used automatic suppression system and are proven effective at saving lives and limiting material damage in fires. A sprinkler system activates only the sprinkler head or heads directly exposed to heat, thereby minimising water damage. Rør System installs wet systems, dry systems and pre-action systems adapted to the building's use, construction and regulations.
We engineer and install in accordance with NS-EN 12845 (fixed sprinkler systems for commercial and industrial buildings), NS-INSTA 900-1/-2/-3 (residential sprinkler and residential hotels) and local fire strategies. All work is performed by certified installers, and systems are handed over with complete O&M documentation, test protocols and certification from an approved inspection body.
Wet systems are most common in heated buildings, while dry systems and pre-action systems are used in unheated spaces, car parks and locations where there is a risk of freezing. We assess the correct system type based on the fire strategy, temperature conditions and client requirements.

Gas suppression and special systems
For rooms with critical equipment where water damage is unacceptable — server rooms, telecommunications rooms, electrical rooms, archives and laboratories — gas suppression is the right choice. A gas suppression system extinguishes the fire chemically or by oxygen displacement without damaging electronics, data or stored valuables and without leaving residue.
Rør System installs systems with clean agent (Novec 1230 / FK-5-1-12, FM-200 / HFC-227ea) and inert gas (Argon, Inergen / IG-541, CO₂). The choice of suppression agent is based on room volume, exposure time, personal safety and environmental considerations. We collaborate with approved suppliers and ensure a complete system — from gas cylinders and pipe distribution to nozzles, release panel and zone activation.
All gas suppression systems are engineered and verified in accordance with NS-EN 15004 and supplier documentation requirements. We ensure rooms are adequately sealed and that warning signs, delay times and safety valves are in place before the system is commissioned.

Water mist systems
Water mist is a highly efficient suppression system that uses extremely fine water droplets under high pressure. The droplets cool the fire and displace oxygen in the immediate vicinity, providing effective suppression with significantly less water than traditional sprinkler. This minimises water damage and reduces downtime after a fire.
Water mist is particularly suitable for heritage buildings, hotels, tunnels, offshore facilities and rooms where water damage is a concern alongside the fire protection requirement. Rør System installs both low-pressure systems (approved to LPCB) and high-pressure systems such as HI-FOG. We coordinate with the system supplier and ensure correct engineering, installation and acceptance testing.
Foam suppression systems for garages and industry
Foam suppression systems are used where flammable liquids, oil products or garages with electric vehicles require particularly effective intervention. The systems combine water and foam concentrate and cover the fire surface with an insulating layer that prevents oxygen access. Rør System installs low-expansion foam systems (Low-X) and medium-expansion systems in accordance with NS-EN 13565.
