Regulations & Standards
We dimension fire suppression to the right regulations — European where it holds, international where it gives better coverage for the project's risk profile and requirements.

The right regulations for each project
Choosing regulations is a technical decision. Rør System dimensions to the regulations that match the project's risk profile, requirements and markets — European where it holds, international where it provides better coverage.
European standards
European regulations are used where they cover the need:
- EN 12845 — sprinkler systems
- EN 12259 series — sprinkler components
- EN 16925 — residential sprinkler
- EN 15004 series / ISO 14520 — gas-based suppression systems
- EN 15276 — condensed aerosol
- EN 54 series — fire alarm and detection
- EN 12094 — components for fixed gas suppression systems
International framework
Where European regulations are not sufficient — for example for modern data centres and specialist installations:
- NFPA 13 — installation of sprinkler systems, including ESFR and high-rack storage
- NFPA 2001 — clean agent systems
- NFPA 2010 — fixed aerosol systems
- NFPA 75 / 76 — IT equipment and telecommunications facilities
- NFPA 750 — water mist systems
- NFPA 25 — inspection and maintenance of water-based systems
- NFPA 72 — fire alarm
- NFPA 11 — foam
- FM Global Data Sheets — including 5-32 for data centres, where insurance or risk profile requires it
Nordic and insurance-based frameworks
We also apply Nordic frameworks and insurance regulations where the project requires it:
- INSTA 900 series — Nordic residential sprinkler
- FG — Norwegian Insurance Approval Committee (Norway)
- SBF / SBSC — Sweden
- VdS — Germany, recognised in the Nordic countries
- LPCB — UK / international
